Binding Day!

Yesterday I finished working on quilting the "Star Wars" Rail Fence Quilt Top.  All the quilting on this quilt was done with rulers.  I think it came out really nice.  So today, I prepared bindings for 3 different quilts.  Two of the binding went on the quilt tops today, one for the Rail Fence quilt top and the other for the Wine Bottle Wall hanging.  Just need to finish binding to the back of the quilts now.  The other binding is for the Meadow Friends layer cake quilt top, which will be on the long arm in the next day or so.

Also, made a trip to Materials Girls Quilt Shop, and picked up fabrics for a new quilt project, I'm going to start probably tomorrow.  I will showing you more as I get started.  but here is a sneak peek of the fabrics, I'm going to be using.   So Stay Tuned!

Next Quilt Top

This week with my husband working the evening shift, I have been taking advantage to some evening quilting time in the sewing room.  So last night, I prepared the backing and batting for the Meadow Friends Quilt Top, now they just have to be loaded on the Long-arm.  Now it was time to start a new a new quilt top, for a little boy that loves star wars, whose sister is getting the Meadow Friends quilt.

Making this quilt into a laps size in the Rail Fence patten.  This pattern is easy to make, you are cutting strips of fabric and cutting them to size. I will do a tutorial on this in a couple days, once completely done. Now, that I have all my pieces cut down to size, I having a hard time decided which layout I want to use.  Pinwheel or Fence layouts.  I'm thinking that it will be the Rail Fence to this one.  What do you think?

Meadow Friends Layer Cake Quilt Top Completed

Hope you all had a nice Easter with your friends and family!  We spent a quite day at home doing a few chores around  the house.  My husband installed florescent lights above my  long-arm, which helps a lot with the lighting in the room.  We also installed the Harley Perfect Circle on my long-arm.  Hoping to start playing with it here soon. Then we made a big pot of Clam Chowder, and watched the Hobbit, is was a nice Easter Day!

Yesterday and this evening I worked on finishing the Meadow Friends layer cake quilt top, which I started weeks ago, just didn't have the borders, backing and binding fabric.  I got the fabric about a week ago, I wanted to get this on the Long-arm and get it done.  I finished with a inner border 1" yellow to match the 1" sashings.  Then I add 4 1/2 " blue outer borders.  They came out even and nice  and straight, very happy with this quilt top.

Tomorrow evening, I hope to get the backing ready and decided how I want to quilt this one.  Also want to get started on the next quilt top, which will be a Star Wars Rail Fence Lap Quilt.

Hope you all have a good week!

One project near complete, starting New!

This morning after many evening hours of quilting,  "Easy Street" is now quilted and off the longarm.  I trimmed the sides, and sewed the binding on the front of the quilt.  So, now I am ready to start sewing the back of the binding for the quilt in the evenings while watching TV. Once the binding is completely done I will show it off to you all.

Now I have started a quick project for a gift for a friend's little girl.  I'm making a lap size quilt from a layer cake collection from Moda called "Meadow Friends".  I'm basically just sewing 5 cakes together into 5 rows with 1" strips in between.  Since I'm almost done with the main part I now need to get fabric for the borders and backing for it.

Tomorrow, hoping to get another quilt on the longarm.  I have a few things to in the morning, but the rest of the day will be my time for quilting.
