Star Burst Table Top!

The other day after I finished, my 2013 Designer of Mystery Block, I was looking for something easy and quick to do for the rest of the day.  I found my a kit that I picked up from one of the shops on the Quilt Quest Shop Hop. So, I decided to make a quick new Table Topper for my kitchen table.

The pattern comes from Perkins Dry Goods, and is called "Star Burst Topper"  it measures at 33" x 33".  The pattern came with the kit that I got from the store and it even had the backing and binding fabric.  I love that when store add the backing to the kits, but the only thing is was just almost to short for the use on my longarm, but I will make it work.

The middle of the topper looks like this above,  I love the colors that are in this little quilt.

Isn't this beautiful table top quilt!  I love the colors, I can't wait to get this quilted.  I just need to decide how, I'm going to quilt it,  I'm leaning toward feathers, what do you think?

Enjoy your Friday, and your weekend,

Tina

2013 Quilters Quest Day 2!

Day 2 of the 2013 Quilters Quest Shop was just as fun as Day 1.  The day started an hour earlier than yesterday.  Which meant I got to sleep in a little this morning, YEAH!

The first stop for us all was in Annapolis, Maryland at Cottonseed Glory.  I have been there before and really like the shop.  Great Selection of patterns, and Kits.  Huge Collection of fabric in a small shop.

The bus then continued to Townson, Maryland to the Bears Paw Quilting were we greeted by the owner with a big welcome.  The store was clean and with lots of space to move around.  Lots of fabrics to choose from.  As we settled back on the bus, the own came out and thanked us for coming.

The next stop, the Seminole Sampler, which was a nice shop with a small selection to choose from, so we were not there that long.

The final stop was in Gathersburg, Maryland at Capital Quilts.  The shop has expanded since I was there last.  They have a whole new section, which means a whole extra room of great fabrics.  I love it this was my favorite store of the day that we had to travel long distance for.

We finished  the quest back at Material Girls, were we received our Quest Tote, and Pizza dinner.

The last couple days was great fun!  I met new quilters that became friends.  I really hoping that Material Girls will be doing this again next year.

2013 Quilters Quest Day 1

Today, was a day of traveling all over Virginia and Maryland.  The travels were all well worth it, as we were traveling to 5 different Quilt Shops.  Today, I was joining 35 other ladies on the 2013 Quilters Quest.Shop Hop.  The bus I was on started at Material Girls at 7am.  We had a great tour guide, Mike.

The first stop was Patches Quilting in Mt. Airy, Maryland.  This shop was really nice inside.  Lots of fabrics to choose from.  The help was very friendly and helpful.

The next stop was on to Hagerstown, Maryland for Traditions of White Swan Quilt Shop.  I have seen this shop as a vendor at several different Quilt Shows.  They have a great collection of fabrics and tables of fat quarters.

As we traveled to the next shop we were handed our lunches that were provided by Apple Spice Junction.  The Turkey sandwich I had was great, and very fresh.

The next stop was The Scrappy Apple Quilts & more in Winchester, Virginia.  I atmosphere of this shop.  Everyone was helpful and willing to go the extra step to work with you.    The variety of patterns and fabrics was great.

Kelly Ann's Quilting, in Warrenton, Virginia was the next stop.  As we approached the door of the shop we were greeted by these three Minions, what a great greeting.  The store was nice and the people were really nice.

The final stop, of the day was in Great Fall, Virginia at Jinny Beyer Studios.  It was nice to meet and talk to her personally.  Her shop is really nice and full of nice fabrics.  Lots of fat quarters and kits.

Then we were off back to Material Girls.  Tomorrow morning we are off for 5 more shops to finish up the Shop hop.  What a great day of fabric shopping.
