Evening Elegance Blog Hop- Day Four

Welcome to Day Four of the Evening Elegance Blog Hop!  My name is Tina Dillard, Quilting Affection Designs.  I'm one of the newest Studio 180 Design Certified Instruction.  I'm also an Island Batik Ambassador, Pattern Designer, and Teacher.

As an Island Batik Ambassador and Pattern Designer for Island Batik, I just fell in love with the Deb Tucker Twilight Chic signature fabric collection, so I was honored to be asked to join in this Blog Hop.

Today will be showing you off some more of the fabulous colors in the Twilight Chic fabric collection through some of the fun Blockbuster Blocks.

#20 Stellar Collision, is the first Blockbuster block I would like to show off.  This block measures 12", but you can make it into 6", and 9" blocks as well.  The block highlights the Studio 180 Design Rapid Fire® Lemoyne Star, Tucker Trimmer® 1, and Square Squared® tools.

When I was making the Lemoyne Star Quarters, I just fell love with the Blue and Purples in these Quarter Squares, due to the richness in the colors.  I may have to make a Rapid Fire® Lemoyne Star quilt out of this fabric collection.

The second block I would like to show you is #26, Cactus Blossom, it made with the Studio 180 Design Corner Beam®, Corner Pop®, and the Wing Clipper® 1 tool. This block can be made into 6", 12" and 18" blocks.  The 18" block would make a great center Medallion for a quilt. For this block, I made a 12" block.

The corners and the center of this block are Corner Beam Units and trimmed to size using the Corner Beam® tool.

The center of this block is made up of 4 Corner Beam units, stitch together.

With the large Corner Beam units, I need to add a triangle piece to the beam end of the unit using the Corner Pop® tool.

The last of the units are two different Flying Geese units stitched together.  Once all the units were made, you can stitch the block together to complete Block #26 Cactus Blossom.

Do you like these blocks? You can download these and many more Blockbuster Blocks from the Studio 180 Design webpage, found HERE.
