The last couple day, have been pretty busy. Lets see where should we start. Friday was my extra day off, but I found out that my husband was off also due to all the overtime he had been working that week, which was great. So Friday, my oldest son, my husband and myself went to lunch together. Then my husband and I went to the county courthouses to get the last bit of paperwork we needed done for the getting Quilting Affections set up as a business. Just waiting on the application to be approved and we are done, Yeah!!! Then we went and did some errands at Target. After that we headed out to Michelle's Quilt Shop, to pick out fabric for a new pattern we are designing, more on that coming soon. When we finished at Michelle's we came home and I did some free motion practice on the longarm. The rest of the evening I sat watching t.v with my feet up working on finishing binding the Jelly Roll Quilt. I almost finished it that night just had a half a side to do, but my eyes were tired, so I went to bed.
On Saturday morning, we were planning to head to IKEA, but the wind was really strong. So we decided to stay home and get a few thing done around the house, and so glad we did. I finished the Jelly Roll Race Quilt, another quilt done and off my list to finish. Next, I started washing and ironing fabric that we got at Michelle's on Friday. Then I started to clean my studio, but during the cleaning I ended up rearranging things in the room. In the mist of rearranging we moved the Embroidery Machine into that room so my husband and I can work together in the same room. While working on that I finished washing some other material that need to made into quilts. So after I was done with all the rearranging I had lots of ironing to do, but I got it done. I still have a few thing to put away from the rearranging but I like the new set up; much easier to get to things. I ended the night by putting the binding on the Memory Quilt for my son, and I was starting to do the hand stitching by the time I went to bed.
Today, I am hoping to get some practicing on the longarm done. I found an old quilt (UFO) yesterday that needed to be quilted and I will practice with it. I think i will start with some designs on practice material to see If I like it or not before I load the quilt. I may also work on some the new pattern designs. Well will have to see what the day brings us. Hope you all have a great Sunday.Tina

Today I completed quilting my first quilt on my Millennium and it went very smoothly. After having the quilt loaded last night and everything prepared it made the quilting process go very quickly.
I used "Fantasy Flame", panto by Jessica Schick from Digi-Tech Patterns, The thread I used is Superior Threads So Fine #50, 442- Thistle.
It really was fun to work on a real quilt instead of using a practicing piece of muslin. I think next time I want to try a different brand of batting to see how it works on the machine.
After I completed the quilting I trimmed off the sides and prepped the quilt for the binding. I then made the binding and sewed it on to the front of the quilt.
Now just to get the label made and sew the binding on the back of the quilt, a little hand sewing at night.
Now, I need to prep another quilt top and backing for the machine, I can't wait to do another. I'm in love with working with my Millie.Tina

Yesterday, was a good day of quilting in my studio. I worked on the finishing the jelly roll race and prepping the backing for the long-arm.
I decided to add 3-1/2 " borders around the quilt, after I squared all the sides up on the top. The borders, really help bring out the colors in the strips. I got everything squared so all I had to do was press it with the iron to make sure the seams were laying correctly.
Then I prepared the backing for the quilt. Wasn't sure I had enough fabric after I added the borders but, I always buy fabric a little bigger than what it calls for, so I was glad that worked out. After I sewed up the seams of the 2 pieces of backing material, I placed them it on my cutting table and squared up all the sides and then gave the backing a good ironing, remembering to open the seam up to make sure it lays flat.
Once I had the backing done I was able to cut the batting to the size of the backing. Then I folded all the pieces into quarters for easy loading on the longarm.
Next the fun continued due to I practiced the rest of the day with a couple of pantographs on my longarm. The one I'm going to use on the jelly roll race and the other is the one I will be using on the Hero Memory Quilt.
Later in the evening, I ran out of room on the practice piece so I decided I would go ahead and the load the Jelly Roll Race on the machine. So now it is waiting for me start on it today. I even have all my bobbins sitting and ready to go.
Since this is my first real quilt on the long arm, I'm going to take it nice and slow and hope nothing goes wrong. I will post when the final results when finished, so stayed tune.Tina

Yesterday was a very productive day for quilting in my house, hope it was the same for you. I finished part 4 of the Easy Street Mystery, The colors on it are coming together and I am excited to see what it will look like. While I was working on that project,my husband was working on his own project.
The last couple weeks my husband has asked my to show him how to quilt. So, I thought about different easy, beginning project for him to do. I remembered the Jelly Roll race pattern, I saw on Missouri Star Quilting Tutorials. I had a couple jelly rolls to let him choose from. He had been practicing on my old New Home sewing machine working on his quarter inch seam allowance. I also had him watch the video a couple of times. Then he started sewing all the ends together, then sewing all the sides together, by late yesterday afternoon, he had finished his first quilt top. All we have to do is to quilt and bind the top. So Proud of him and he did a good job on his first attempt.Today, I will be working on some housework, hoping to have it all done by QuiltCam 2pm comes on this afternoon. Then, I will work on some older quilting projects I really need to finish.Hope you all have a nice Sunday.Tina
