Customer Quilt Top

Old Glory Life has been crazy the last couple weeks.  I been working hard on completing and finishing up several quilts for the patterns we have in final stages of development.  We hope to be going to the printers here in the next couple weeks.

I finally received another quilt top to finish for a customer yesterday.   I finished it up late last night.  The quilt top is named "Old Glory". This Red, White, Blue star quilt top measuring 71 1/2" x 91 1/2" was made by a first time quilter.  She did a fabulous job for her first time.

Longarm Quilting ServiceThe customer requested a star design pantograph.  Old GlorySo we found "Star Dance" on the Digi-Tech Designs website.  The batting that I used was Quilters Dream Black Poly with Superior So Fine Thread.

The quilt came out beautiful. Now, just waiting for the customer to pick up the quilt.

Time to get back to work on these pattern and quilt designs.

Finished Quilt!

T-shirt Quilt Order #3Friday, I finished the My Customers T-Shirt Quilt for her. The finished started on Thursday, were I spent half of the day preparing the quilt for the longarm and another half of the day quilting the pantograph design on the quilt.  I used my Quilters Dream Black Poly Batting with Blue So Fine #50 Thread. After I was done I was able to square everything, and it was ready for the binding and labels.

T-shirt Quilt Order #3Friday,I started the day early with making the binding and the labels for the quilt.  By Noon, the binding and the labels were done and on the quilt, I just need to hand sew the binding on the back of the quilt.  4-5 hours later, I was done and it was ready for the customer.

I emailed my customer with the invoice and Pictures, and she was very happy about the what she sees.  Now, I just wait payment and it will be off to the customer.

T-shirt Quilt Order #3Now, It is time to clean up and start working on some other projects.  I think I will catch-up on my block of the month first.

Have a great sewing and quilting day!

Quilt Process and Surprise!

Women of CourageProgress has been made on the Women of Courage Quilt.  I have found the middle of the quilt.  Which I started working on yesterday.  I really didn't get much done yesterday, due it I was doing a little spring cleaning around in my office area.  It took a good half a day just to get it to the way I wanted it all.  I decided to get it done since today is our Tax Day, time to meet with the accountant for that yearly task which everyone hates to do.

Ruler and Scissor HolderThe UPS man brought me a nice package in the mail yesterday from my Dad.  He made me this nice ruler and scissor hanger for my sewing room.  I love the bird house shape.  It fits all my sewing rulers great.  My husband will be hanging it up later for me today.

Thank you to my Dad, for this great present!

Time to get sewing before tax appointment!

Happy Sewing and Quilting!

Busy Weekend and Monday!

The last couple days have been really busy for us.  Saturday and Sunday were days of running errands in town.  Saturday, we had to run to the car dealership to resign paperwork due they messed up some of the numbers, which worked into our favor slightly lower monthly payments.  Then to Home Depot to get a few items we needed.  We didn't find the shelving unit I wanted for the spare bedroom to store all the fabric on so we went to BJ's Warehouse Store and we found a nice on there.

Sunday we were back to running errands again this time to Annapolis for our every 6 month running shoe purchase.  My legs and feet are very happy now, new shoes with cushion.  Then we went back to town to pick up dog food, then home.

Display RodWhen we got home, My husband put up my Quilt Display Rod in the Sewing Room. The rod is just two pieces dowel rods and we hung them with curtain rod brackets.  I will hang the quilts with the curtain rod clips.  It will hold a King Size quilt.

Once that was we put together the new shelving unit in the spare bedroom and put all the fabric on the shelves, we will have plenty of room for more fabric.  Now we just need to put up the new ceiling fan so we can see in the room.  I have a little rearranging I want to do in that room to make more room but I'm happy so far.

Women of CourageMonday, I got my morning run outside in the cool crisp air.  Then I got the rough drafts of the patterns printed and mailed off to My mother in law for proofing.  I got some more errands done while I was in town.  By early afternoon, I was home and quilting which I did get another row finished.  Today, I hope to get the half way done point.

Last Night, we got the design layout of the website newsletter finished.  Just need to get that put in the system.  Hope to get the newsletter out on the first of the month.  If you would like to subscribe to the Quilting Affection Newsletter just click on this link: http://www.quiltingaffection.com/newsletter/subscribe/

Well time to go and get quilting!

Have a Great Sewing and Quilting Day!

Quilting Women of Courage Quilt

Yesterday, I spent the day starting to quilt the Women of Courage Quilt Top.  I'm doing some custom work using my Quilt Path Computer and a little ruler work.  I got the top border and the first row done by the end of the day.
Women of Courage

In the large triangles, I'm using a pattern called Oodles of Doodles Triangle #1, which I got from Digi-Tech Patterns.
  Women of Courage
In the blue and outer background corner pieces I'm doing some ruler work with adding lines across to make the quilt flow and outline to the design.  It will be more noticeable when the quilt is finished.

Women of Courage
In the outer star pieces, I'm using Oodles of Doodles block, to set the block apart them the rest of the quilt.

Now that I have this row done, the rest of the rows will be a little easier to complete the flow of the quilt top.

Not sure, If I will get any quilting done today, we have errand to get done in town. But I will be back at on Monday.

African Quilt Finished!

Today, I finished quilting the West Africa Project Quilt.  It turned out great and this quilt was fun to do.  The designs just popped out to me from the first time I saw this quilt.

I think the back came out great!  It shows the quilting so well.

Tomorrow the labels and Binding go on!

I look forward to getting this back to Diane and hoping this quilt raises lots of money for the non-profit "Duniya Center for Arts and Education" .(http://www.duniyacenter.org/ )
