Quilting Women of Courage Quilt

Yesterday, I spent the day starting to quilt the Women of Courage Quilt Top.  I'm doing some custom work using my Quilt Path Computer and a little ruler work.  I got the top border and the first row done by the end of the day.

 
In the large triangles, I'm using a pattern called Oodles of Doodles Triangle #1, which I got from Digi-Tech Patterns.

 
In the blue and outer background corner pieces I'm doing some ruler work with adding lines across to make the quilt flow and outline to the design.  It will be more noticeable when the quilt is finished.


In the outer star pieces, I'm using Oodles of Doodles block, to set the block apart them the rest of the quilt.



Now that I have this row done, the rest of the rows will be a little easier to complete the flow of the quilt top.

Not sure, If I will get any quilting done today, we have errand to get done in town. But I will be back at on Monday.

New Years Quilting!

I have been quilting over New Years!  I'm working on a Quilt top my mom finished!  The colors are beautiful on this quilt along with the hand appliques through out the quilt top. 

With this quilt top I'm using Quilters Dream Poly Deluxe Batting, to give the quilt top more a loft.

Two block done!

 This big block was fun.  I ditched around the basket and flowers to make them popout.  Then I tried something new for me I add a swirl fill in the background.  

Not bad for the first time! 

Have several block in the quilt that are plain, so I'm adding these lines.

Lots more to quilt!

Next Quilt Top

This week with my husband working the evening shift, I have been taking advantage to some evening quilting time in the sewing room.  So last night, I prepared the backing and batting for the Meadow Friends Quilt Top, now they just have to be loaded on the Long-arm.  Now it was time to start a new a new quilt top, for a little boy that loves star wars, whose sister is getting the Meadow Friends quilt.

Making this quilt into a laps size in the Rail Fence patten.  This pattern is easy to make, you are cutting strips of fabric and cutting them to size. I will do a tutorial on this in a couple days, once completely done. Now, that I have all my pieces cut down to size, I having a hard time decided which layout I want to use.  Pinwheel or Fence layouts.  I'm thinking that it will be the Rail Fence to this one.  What do you think?
