Quilts Bindings and Labels made!

Yesterday and Today, I made bindings and labels for the 2012 Designers Mystery and the Deer Around Minnesota Quilts.  I normally put regular straight binding on the quilts, but this time I put a Bias Binding on the quilts.  I used the the Bias Binding Ruler and the Binding Tools.

Using the Rules is nice it doesn't waste fabric and takes less time in the long run like the straight binding. I'm finding out I like it much better just need to practice a little more.
I made the labels for both quilts also. I like using my Brother Embroidery Machine for the labels.

The Binding are sewn on the front of the quilts and just need be turned over and hand sewn to the back.  I love using the Wonder Clips for holding the binding to the quilt tops.

Well time to get sewing on those bindings.

Christmas Joy Row 1 Complete!

I finally have finished working on the 8 blazing star blocks for the Christmas Joy Quilt Class. I liked working with the foundation piecing, but the stars are a very hard and time consuming.  It took me over 4 days to just to get this row completed.  It came out very nice for my first time at foundation piecing.

Next Class will be Friday afternoon/evening, we will be making the Joy row. Looking forward to that class.  I have my pieces cut and ready for that class.

Tomorrow, I think I will work on getting the borders on the Deer in Minnesota Quilt.  Looking forward to getting that one complete also.

Have fun quilting!

2012 Designer Mystery Quilt Done!

After working on for just a week 1/2, I have completed the quilting on the 2012 Designer Mystery Quilt top.  I like how the blocks pop out after all the quilting was done around them.

Now, time to go to the sewing room today, I need to finish the Blazing Star blocks this week, I have class this Friday evening to prepare for.  Also, want to finish up the Deer in Minnesota Quilt Top also and get that quilted here shortly.

Have a Great Sunday!
