Today, I spent the most of the day working on getting Easy Street on the Longarm. This is the biggest quilt I have worked with yet, and it was not easy.
As usual the backing was easy to get lined up and I just took my time rolling it on the front bar. After the backing was on it was time for the quilt top, which was not as easy to put on. It was tricky to keep it straight and I was trying not to stretch the quilt out any further that needed due to the many bias pieces in the quilt. After a couple of try's I finally got it on the frame.
Then started quilting, I'm doing an edge to edge panto on this one. Will post an pictures when I get the top finished.
This evening I also prepared the tulip applique quilt top and back to put on the longarm next. This will be my first quilt top for custom quilting practice.

Today, as I was cleaning my longarm room, I looked around and noticed I had no storage and organization in this room, and I needed it badly. I had my bobbin winder sitting on top of my DVD player, pantographs on the floor, thread all hanging out of my storage box. 
So my husband I went to target and looked at bookcases, and other storage units, nothing looked just like I wanted. Then I thought about it some and I came up with the idea of a tool chest from Sears. So we went to the mall.
We were in luck they had all their tool chests on sale. The one I was thinking about was a nice pink color, with only 7-8 drawers. But we keep looking at them, then we found this one that had 13 varies size drawers, plus it was the cheapest of them all in stock. We got it and it was the best decision, I love it.The only thing my husband had to do was put the caster wheels on the bottom unit. So all I had to do was put everything away. I was going to go back to target and get shelf liners, but I was looking at a piece of batting and decided to use older pieces I had in a storage tub. I just cut the pieces to fit the drawers, and I put a piece of batting in between the bottom and middle units.
Now, I finally feel organized around my longarm table, everything has its place finally in one area. Also have plenty room to grow as my thread and pantograph collections grow.
Tomorrow, I can finally can get Easy Street on the longarm and start quilting it. Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

Today I teleworked from home and took two hours of leave, due to we were meeting the tax accountant today at 4:30 pm. So, I decided to experiment while I was waiting for my husband to get home.
A while back The Electronic Quilt Company had their Inkjet Fabric on sale. So today, I thought I would experiment with the photo fabric. The photo fabric is 100% cotton at a 200 thread count.
After reading all the instructions, I looked on my computer for a photo to experiment with and chose a nice picture of my sister, mom and myself. Then edited the photo in Photoshop by resizing it and a little touch up. I cut a 8 1/2 X 11 pieces of photo fabric, and put it in the rear tray of my printer. In Photoshop, I set it up to print as a glossy matte finish and pressed the Print button. Well, the first print didn't come out as I hoped. I ran out of color ink, that's not good, but it was a good start. I let it dry for at least 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes, I removed the plastic backing on the back of the fabric. In the Kitchen, I added some distilled water in a pan, and layed the fabric in the water for 10 minutes. After the 10 minutes I carefully remove the fabric, and lay it flat to dry. (Remember not to wring out or twist the fabric.) Once the fabric drys you can cut it and sew on it.
So after I finished the first one, I went to Officedepot for more color ink and started a new picture. This one I used the T-shirt transfer setting and it printed backwards. Which kind of worked out and looked good. The last one was done in a high glossy setting, and a different picture. None of the pictures I printed out bleed at all. Now I want to make a small lap quilt out of pictures of the kids over the years for me.Tina
