Lastest Project

Life has been crazy since I returned from my vacation in Minnesota.  I'm ready for another already, but there is now time right now.  We are in the final stages of getting our Pattern's ready to print.  I'm so nervous and excited at the same time.  Can't wait to show them off, here in the near future.

I did find time this past week to work on a small project that My Friend Jean sent home with me from Minnesota.  When we were at the Hingeley Road Quilt Shop in Floodwood, Minnesota she found some batiks with wine grapes and in the color of here dining room area.  JB TablerunnerSo she asked if I would make a table runner for her, didn't have to be fancy.  So when I returned home, with all the fabric, I started playing around in EQ7 and came up with this idea.
JB TablerunnerOriginally the idea just to make 5 snowball blocks and put borders on them. then I came up with idea of adding the family names to all the snowball blocks with Monogram lettering, with my embroidery machine.

It took me just about a half to make the whole tablerunner including machine embroidering the names on the blocks.

TJB Tablerunnerhe quilting took me a day to complete, due to I put some custom quilting around the embroidered names to make the names pop out. Lots of loop to loop in the detail.  JB TablerunnerThen I added grape leaves in the middle between each block and the borders to finish it off.

Now, I need to get the binding on today and finished this weekend.  So I can give it to her in person next week.  Cant wait to see her.

Have a great Quilting Day,

Live, Inspire and Create,

Tina

Busy Day in Sewing Studio

Yesterday, was a great day in the sewing studio. My husband and I were in the studio sewing away.  He was working on some new embroidery designs, running them through there test  And I was working on a new quilt top, which all it needs now is the borders put on it.

This quilt top kit I picked up from Hingeley Road Quilt Shop back in April while visiting the Duluth Area.  This one is call Deer Around Minnesota.  I love the colors,   You can only get the Deer Fabric from this shop.  All I have to do now is add the borders and quilt it.  I was a fast and easy project to do.  My husband and son love this quilt top.

When I finished that last night, I had enough time to sew up another Blazing Star, in the red this time.  All I have to do now is match up points and sew it together.

In the evening, I finished sewing the binding on the tulip quilt, so now it just need to wash it up and take pictures.  I will be opening an Etsy Store front this week, and will let you all know when it is open.

Today, I'm heading to the longarm and working on the Designer Mystery Quilt top, I need to get it done so I can get the Deer Around Minnesota on and quilted.

Fun with Embroidery

Today, I am going in a little different direction. I addition to my quilting, I am learning embroidery with a Brother Innov-is 15000D embroidery machine and Floriani Total Control Professional embroidery design software. This is actually something I am working on with my Husband, who also like to work with it.

The Brother is an easy machine to operate and is very fascinating to watch. Once you load your embroidery pattern into it, put the fabric and stabilizer in the hoop and thread the machine. You basically press start and it does all the rest. You just have to change thread when it come time for a different color. It is really simple and we have had excellent results with it.

My husband likes to work with the Floriani Total Control software and has designed a few embroidery pattern. He has also helped make a couple of labels that I have added to my quilts. In the future the Floriani software will be a great asset in designing quilt blocks and hopefully I can get a few block designed later this winter. I will keep you posted on my progress.
