Back to Blogging

After several months of not blogging, I have decided to get back into the swing of it.  In doing so, I have moved the blog back to my old blogger site.  You can still reach my blog, via my website, it will direct you to my blog page.  I like writing my blogs on blogger because I can do it on mobile devices and plus it is much easier to work with than the dashboard on my main website.

Over the next several days, I will catch you up what is going on and how the 2015 Plan is progressing so far this year.

Life has been busy in the Quilting Affection studio.  Since the last post in March, we have been developing ideas for me to make up.  I have several patterns in the final development stages and have been traveling all over the country to attend various quilt shows.

In May, my husband and I attended our first Spring Quilt Market in Minneapolis.  As soon as we walking through the doors of the Convention Center on the first day, I was in awe at the size of the market. As we walked the show and handed out brochures, I met and talked to several different designers, learning how I can get my patterns out in the quilting world.  I also got to meet Pat Sloan and received an autograph copy of her new book, "Teach me to Applique".  In addition I attended a couple of classes.  I look forward to the Fall Market in Houston.

When I got home from Quilt Market, I had 4 quilts waiting for me to quilt.  Then, a week later my parents came to visit, so we spent the week touring the Washington DC, and Williamsburg Areas.

After, my parents left, I gave my first private quilting lesson to a mom and her 10 year old son.  She is one of my regular longarming customers, and wanted some lessons.  It was interesting and fun, teaching a 10 year old boy how to sew.  It was not the first time, I taught a boy to sew, I have done with my youngest son. I hope to do more teaching down the road.

Now, I'm back in the studio, working on finishing up several patterns, and starting some new designs.  In the next couple weeks, I will be announcing new patterns that I have been working on.

Well I think that about catches you up on the happening over the last few months, please check back often for more.
