Jennifer Strause, the Dizzy Quilter and I will be showing off the gorgeous colors and furry designs in the Island Batik "Fur-ocious Friends," fabric collections which can be found in your favorite quilt store near you.
The theme of this Ambassador Blog hop is "The Great Outdoors." When I looked at the theme and the colors of the "Fur-ocious Friends" collection, the first thing that popped in my mind was a bright and cheery garden. As a kid, I remember playing with Pinwheels that were placed in gardens to keep the birds and animals away, that is my inspiration for this quilt. Of course, as a newly Studio 180 Design Certified Instructor, I needed to design a fun pattern using my some of my favorite tools.
From these inspirations, I designed "Pinwheel Garden."
Pinwheel Garden, brings those bright cheery days watching the slight spring breeze just spin the pinwheels around and around. The final quilt measures 60" x 60".
For the batting of for this quilt, I want to try out the Tuscany Collection Cotton Wool Bend that was provided to use by Hobbs company in our Island Batik Ambassador Box. I think the batting provided an antique look to the quilt.
This was a fun and easy quilt design to make, the pattern will be coming soon. So be sure to follow my newsletter and blog here, to find out the release date.
